Trauma Integrated Care
Trauma refers to an event or a series of events that someone has lived through that overwhelms their nervous system. Most of us have experienced some type of trauma at some point in our lives which our nervous system was able to recover from over time. Post-Traumatic Stress is a form of acquired neurodivergence in which the nervous system becomes ‘stuck’. Trauma physically changes the brain and body- which means that we cannot just talk our way out of trauma. Healing from trauma means healing the nervous system.
Our comprehensive trauma-informed care uses the Triangle of Well-Being Model, developed by Dr. Daniel Siegel, which emphasizes the interconnectedness between mind, brain and relationships. Our therapeutic approach brings awareness to how the mind, brain and our relationships constantly interact and influence each other.
Our integrative approach blends clinical practice with neuroscience. We take advantage of the brain’s continued ability to learn, change and regulate- this ability is known as ‘neuroplasticity’. We integrate a range of state-of-the-art nervous system therapies (Neurofeedback, Safe & Sound Protocol, Heart Rate Variability Training, tDCS) with traditional talk therapy approaches to promote healing and resilience.
We specialize in working with clients who have experienced:
- Acute Trauma
- Complex Trauma (Relational Trauma)
- Neurodivergent Trauma
